Salman Khan fans, rejoice. The trailer of the actor's much-awaited film Tubelight, will release on May 25. Kabir Khan, the director of the film, tweeted, "#TubelightTrailer out on the 25th of May - can't wait to show you guys!." (Kabir Khan, even we can't wait to watch Salman in Tubelight). Just last week, the first song of Tubelight was unveiled. The Radio Song received more than 3 million views in just 12 hours of its release. Tubelight is based on the Sino-Indian war in 1962. Salman co-stars with Sohail Khan, Chinese actor Zhu Zhu and child artist Matin Rey Tangu. Watch the official teaser of Tubelight here.

Meanwhile, Tubelight is the first Bollywood film to get a personalized emoji on Twitter, inspired by Salman Khan's look from the film. "Happy to announce tht Tubelight becms the FIRST Bollywood film with its own character emoji #TubelightKiEid!" tweeted Kabir Khan.

For all Karan-Arjun fans, a surprise awaits. Didn't get us? Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will be sharing screen space in Tubelight. The two superstars will be seen together after 15 years. SRK has a cameo appearance in Tubelight. "It was a role screaming for a superstar cameo otherwise I wouldn't have. I find it gimmicky. But when you will watch the film, you will realise the role needed a superstar. We went to him with the role and he was kind enough to agree. It is a brilliant cameo but I can't say much about it because it will take away the joy of seeing it," Kabir Khan earlier told Indian Express.

Tubelight, Salman's first film of 2017, releases on June 25. The film is extensively shot in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.

Kiccha Sudeep is the baddie in Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai?

Sudeep will reportedly play the role of a villain in Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai, which will hit screens in December 2017.

Is Kiccha Sudeep returning to Bollywood? If the latest rumours are to be believed, the Kannada superstar is all set to make his comeback to Hindi films with a film starring an A-list actor. Well, the Hebbuli actor will reportedly be sharing screen space with none other than Salman Khan in Tiger Zinda Hai.
It is rumoured that Sudeep has been signed to play the role of the antagonist in Tiger Zinda Hai. Speculations say that Kiccha will be playing an ISI agent named Zahir based in Pakistan. Also, Katrina Kaif will be an agent of the same organisation.
Sudeep made his Bollywood debut with Ram Gopal Varma's Phoonk way back in 2008. With the same director, he was seen in the films like Phoonk 2, Rann and Rakhta Charitra. His hit film Eega was dubbed into Hindi as Makkhi. Now, after a gap of six years, he seems to be returning to Bollywood.

Salman Khan ventures into smartphones business with 'BeingSmart', selects plant, models

KOLKATA | NEW DELHI: For his next blockbuster, Salman Khan is betting on a smaller screen — the smartphone.

The star of such mega hits as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Karan Arjunand Dabangg, Salman Khan is dialling a raft of investors for his smartphone venture, in which he may take a majority shareholding directly or through his family. He’s currently building an operational management team to be headed by a professional with leadership stints at Samsung and Micro max, two top industry executexecutives told ET.

The Bollywood superstar, who owns the Being Human clothing brand, has registered the BeingSmart trademark for smartphones targeted at the entryto-middle market segment. He has also selected the Chinese plant and initial phone models that will run on Android and cost below Rs 20,000.

“BeingSmart will be positioned against the Chinese smartphone brigade — Oppo, Vivoand Xiaomi — at a time domestic handset makers such as Micromax and Intex are facing tremendous competition,” said one of those cited above. “And, like the Being Human apparel line, proceeds from the profit will be ploughed back into charity and social work that Salman Khan does with his Being Human Foundation.”

Salman Khan joins his peer Shah Rukh Khan in branching into businesses other than film production, harnessing their popularity to establish revenue streams in industries as diverse as entertainment, competitive sport, endorsements and branded clothing. The Being Human brand is licensed to Mandhana Retail Ventures, which operates dozens of outlets in various cities selling fashion accessories and apparel.
The BeingSmart smartphones will initially be sold online and later through strategic partnerships with a few large cellphone and electronic retail chains. They may also be sold in Being Human stores. A small group of executives, along with members of the Khan family, are working out the details, the executives said.

There was no response to an email sent to Khan through his celebrity management company Matrix.

Salman Khan’s Being Human “foundation is a registered charitable trust established in 2007 and working in the areas of education and healthcare for the underprivileged,” it says on its website.

Executives said Salman Khan had floated the idea of entering the smartphone business two years ago. A few Indian brands had then shown interest, but eventually backed out due to the high royalty charges he demanded.

“But this time, Salman is himself driving the show and searching for an investor. He expects to launch the devices in the next two quarters and definitely before the festive season,” another executive said.
Both Salman Khan and his sister Alvira are closely engaged with the Being Human business and its product offerings. Mandhana Retail pays 5% royalty on sales to the Being Human Foundation. In 2014, Mandhana Industries demerged its retail and trading businesses and hived off the business of Being Human brand to Mandhana Retail Ventures.

Rajasthan government challenges Salman Khan in Arms Act case

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been issued notice by a sessions court on a state government plea against his acquittal in an Arms Act case linked to alleged hunting of chinkaras by him in 1998 here.

District and Sessions Judge Bhagwan Das Agarwalissued notice to the actor, seeking his reply to the government's plea against him by April 21.

Public Prosecutor Pokar Ram Bishnoi, who challenged Khan's acquittal, said the plea has been admitted and the notice issued to Khan.

The government has challenged Khan's acquittal in the Arms Act case involving alleged possession of unlicensed weapon by him for hunting deers in 1998 in Jodhpur.

Jodhpur Chief Judicial Magistrate had acquitted Salman in the Arms Act case on January 18 citing technical grounds, saying he had been prosecuted under wrong sections.

Bishnoi argued before the sessions judge that the case had been proved against Khan, which was also admitted by the court and that on the basis of the examination of the evidence and witnesses, the prosecution had proved the case.

The state government has moved the sessions court against Salman's acquittal in the Arms Act case barely over a month after the apex court on January 29 issued notice to him on another petition challenging his acquittal by the Rajasthan High Court in the deer hunting case.

While the high court had acquitted the actor in July, the state government had moved the apex court against him in October last year. Salman was accused of hunting two chinkaras at Bhawad in Mathania near Jodhpur on September 26, 1998 and another chinkara at Ghoda farms two days later on September 28, when he was in city for shooting of a film.
